## Distance game
#technique
**Goal** - Teaches fencers measure control.
**Structure** - Defender vs Attacker, Defender keeps their Sword in Alber or some other low guard so as to not automatically parry the attackers blow, Attacker stays in with Sword on shoulder. Defender is responsible for moving while the Attacker is responsible for keeping distance so that they are just on the edge of their measure. During the small moments when Defender changes direction falling into measure of the Attacker, the Attacker is to hew to the Defenders head with a single step forward, Defender should do the most to avoid the hit with only foot work.
The defender and attack can switch roles on a interval basis, or can switch once Attacker lands a hit.

### Addition 1 - Defender follows with after blow
**Goal** - Teaches Attacker to protect themself from after blows and defender to throw them.
Once Attacker either misses or hits, Defender can then follow up with a after blow, Attacker should defend with parry or footwork.
